Shaping Your World with Intention
Hey there, Love!
Today, we’re diving into something truly powerful: the words we use and those we absorb from others. Words have the ability to shape our reality in ways we often don’t even realize. Inspired by Masaru Emoto’s The Secrets of Water, this month’s newsletter explores the energy behind our words and how they influence everything—from our mood to our overall well-being.
Emoto’s research showed that water responds to the energy of words. He found that when water was exposed to positive words like “love” and “gratitude,” it formed beautiful, harmonious crystals when frozen. On the flip side, water exposed to negative words like “hate” or “fear” resulted in chaotic, distorted formations. Considering that our bodies are at least 60% water, the idea that words affect us physically and emotionally starts to make a lot of sense!
The Power of Words: What You Need to Know
Words are not just sounds; they carry energy. Whether spoken, thought, or heard, the words we use and absorb send out ripples that affect us and the world around us. Here’s why being mindful of the words we speak—and the words we allow into our space—can be a game changer:
Words Shape Your Energy: Positive words and affirmations can uplift your mood, increase your energy, and even change how your body feels. Try starting your day with a simple phrase like “I am capable,” and notice how it shifts your mindset and energy.
Words Impact Your Relationships: The energy behind our words affects not just ourselves but those around us. Speaking kindly to others, even in stressful moments, creates a more harmonious environment and strengthens relationships. Likewise, the words spoken to us can either build us up or tear us down. Surround yourself with voices that encourage and empower you.
Words Affect Your Brain: Negative self-talk—or hearing hurtful words from others—can contribute to stress, anxiety, and even physical tension. But when you consciously replace negative thoughts with positive ones, and distance yourself from unkind words, your brain rewires itself for resilience, clarity, and focus. You have the power to choose what words you let in!
Parting Gems of Wisdom
Words carry immense power—more than we often give them credit for. Whether you’re talking to yourself, speaking to others, or absorbing someone else’s words, the energy behind them has the ability to heal, uplift, and transform OR the very opposite. As you move through your day, ask yourself: Are my words—or the words I’m absorbing—lifting me up or taking me down?
Remember that your words—and the words of those around you—can change your reality. So, why not choose words that elevate, inspire, and protect your energy? You are amazing! And caring! And brave! And worthy! And enough!
Until next time, stay mindful and kind, and keep shining your light. We’ll be back in two weeks with more wellness wisdom and wonder.
